Customer Relationship Leader
For many, winter in New England is a time to hibernate. Curling up in an armchair with a hot piping beverage is preferable to biting cold temperatures outdoors. Entire lakes freeze over, creating a tundra-like environment. Yet, life thrives in such areas. Beneath 4 to 6 inches of ice, the water teems with perch, pickerel and bass. Above, you might find someone like Marybeth Bonina, setting her auger to drill.
Not much can keep MB (as she is known around the office) from enjoying herself, sub-freezing temperatures included. Ice fishing is one of her many winter activities. The sport requires proper equipment. Heavy-duty boots and crampons are recommended to prevent slipping. For a lightweight person like MB, however, these can impede movement. Some choose to suffer through a penguin-like gait. MB has other ideas. Pair a set of old work boots with a few carefully placed screws in the soles and voila: “I can walk around like it’s nothing,” she laughs.
MB credits her ingenuity to her parents, both of whom are extremely handy. Together, they built the house in which she grew up. MB’s father owned a construction company where she worked after college. MB learned all aspects of the business. “I can build or fix just about anything.” Working with dad had its perks. As big football fans, the pair often punched out early on summer afternoons to watch the New England Patriots training camp.
Outside of football and fishing, MB gains muscle and elevation at the gym and on the trail. She sets the bar high in Olympic weight lifting with a max PR of 225 pounds for her deadlift and she has scaled a number of New Hampshire’s 4,000 footers. A love for the band Phish lured her across the country to locations like Washington’s Gorge amphitheater. As Customer Relationship Leader, she also travels to visit distributors and soaks in the local fanfare. She has attended a Vikings game in Minneapolis, strolled through Seattle’s Pike Place Market and visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. “It’s one of the many things I love about the job.”
MB joined the Laddawn team in 2012. Since then, she has forged strong relationships both in and out of the building. As a Customer Relationship Leader, MB inspires her team to find innovative solutions for customers. Smart, funny, adventurous and dedicated, MB is quite the catch.
