Four months after the extraordinary circumstances brought on by Hurricane Harvey, resin costs remain above pre-storm levels. Still, there’s reason to be bearish on costs. U.S. energy prices are favorable and polyethylene inventories have been largely restored.

We were pleased to leverage our buying power and extensive inventories to hold stock pricing for a full month after the disruption of the Gulf Coast’s ethylene production. Moreover, our October increase was limited in size and scope. Now, a bit ahead of schedule, we’re pleased to provide price relief.

Prices on Laddawn-made and other domestically produced stock items have been reduced by 5%.

Of course, prices on imported items, including all Laddawn reclosables, smaller layflat, gusseted and specialty bags were not affected by Hurricane Harvey. They remain unchanged here.

In November, we introduced Laddawn Mobile. Your feedback has been terrific. Designed to provide a consistently great user experience regardless of viewport size, our new responsive design is giving you greater access to the sourcing information you need when and where you need it. Search, price, share, order and track on the go. Have you logged in yet?

There is good news to share on the product front, as well. Of all the stock items we’ve added over the past few years – from new Lip & Tape, Pre-Opened, Wicketed and Polypropylene bags to any number of new subcategories of Reclosables – none have been better received than our new co-extruded Poly Mailers. Now our fastest growing stock category, it’s got you thinking about Laddawn for custom options, too.

Introducing custom and printed Poly Mailers. Now you can log on to Laddawn.com to get pricing and lead times on custom sizes of Poly Mailers in seconds. Use Print Designer to design a printed Poly Mailer and share technical drawings with pricing and lead times in minutes. We’ll take it from there.

Stock and custom additions like these bring to life the best sort of online sourcing experience. Thank you for the business that makes Laddawn’s online marketplace possible.

On behalf of all of us in Atlanta, Boston, Cedar Rapids, Dallas and Reno, here’s to a happy, healthy and successful new year.
